Nature of request
John de Lisle asks that the debts that he and his wife owe the King might be allowed against his fee, which is in arrears, and that the remainder of the arrears might be paid him, so that he might more honourably serve the King in Scotland and elsewhere.
Nature of endorsement
A writ of Chancery is to be issued to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, to allow to John, in the fee that the King owes him, all the debts that John and Mary his wife owe the King for whatever reason. And the rest of the fee, if any is in arrears to him beyond the aforesaid allowance, they are to pay to John as quickly as they well can, or to assign him the debts of others who owe debts to the King, and assign those debts to the same debtors by that assignment.
