Nature of request
William de Stokes, proctor and attorney of Stephen de Boys, son and heir of John de Boys, formerly citizen and draper of London, and executor of John's testament, states that the King's father has already written to the burgomeisters, echevins and council of Bruges, asking them to give satisfaction to Stephen for 20 sacks of wool stolen from John in the port of Sluis by Baugelin de Ardeburgh, for which crime Baugelin was convicted and imprisoned until he had made satisfaction to John, as the Bailiffs and Echevins of Bruges had bound themselves to pay John a certain sum if they allowed Baugelin to go free before he had made satisfaction, and they have done so. William requests a remedy.

He is to have letters of sicut alias in Chancery to be sent to the burgomeisters etc., reciting the process held on this.
