Nature of request
Letter to Edward II from the Mayor, Aldermen and community of London, stating that John le Whit of Almaine received several loans from merchants and citizens of London, and then secretly fled the country with this money, now living, as they understand, in the territory of Henry, Lord of Mecklenburg, Stargard and Rostock. They ask the King to write to Henry, so that by his help their fellow-citizens might recover their goods.
