Description

Confidential report on colonial public officers: provides additional information to that included in his confidential despatch of 9 April 1872 on the following officials: G H Hawtayne, magistrate; G Van Heijningen, chief of police; John D'Oyly, magistrate; J P Drysdale, magistrate; G M Browne, magistrate; Allan Lewis, colonial registrar and secretary of the superior courts; T A Bennett, inspector of schools and immigration agent; John Manning, postmaster; Dr S Arnott, colonial surgeon; Dr W F Newsam, district medical officer; Dr Otho Galgey, district medical officer; Dr William Cumming, district medical officer; Dr R P Sprote, district medical officer; Dr W Mara, district medical officer; H H Breen, provost marshal; William Harold, treasury accountant; and Captain R P Linley, harbour master.
