Description

Short title: Whorwood v Symons.

Plaintiff(s): Robert Whorwood, Gilbert Jackson, Richard Day, clerk, William Clark, clerk, Thomas Symes, John Glover, Edward Glover, Chr. Mathewes, John Aldworth, freeholders and landholders in Whately.

Defendant(s): Walter Symons, Richard Northcott, Francis Page, James Toms, Thomas Powell, Richard Munt, wheelwright, Leonard Hazeley, William Juggins, Graland Page, James Harding, Thomas Chapman, cottagers and poor inhabitants within Whately.

Subject of depositions: Inclosing of the forests of Shotover and Stowood, and the common or lands for common set out upon such enclosure for the town of Wheately. Touching the alleged neglect of the defendants to repair the mounds and fences dividing their allotments from those of the landholders. Customs of commoning in the forest previous to the enclosure. [Sir Timothy Tirrell is mentioned].
