Description

Short title: Briggs v Dearden.

Plaintiff(s): John Briggs, administrator of the goods and personal estate of Robert Ashworth.

Defendant(s): Richard Dearden, executor of the last will and testament of George Ormerod, late of Hudhey, in Haslingden (Lancaster), yeoman, deceased.

Subject of depositions: Mortgage of two messuages, in Brandwood, in the township of Spotland (Lancashire), late of Robert Ashworth (deceased), called the Rakehead and the Calfehey House, and a lease of the premises made by Thomas Posthumus Holt (late of Grislehurst, Lancaster) to Robert Ashworth.

County/place: Lancashire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1681.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 20 April 1681 at Haslingden.
