Description

Short title: Dean of the Cathedral of Wells v Whiting.

Plaintiff(s): The Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Wells.

Defendant(s): Edward Whiting, Leonard Hardwick, Phillip Ball.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Canons Grange. Touching a custom that certain tenants of the manor of Easton, in the parish of St Cuthberts in Wells, and other tenantsof other manors, do annually on St Martin's day bring to a place called Canons Barn, measures of wheat called "churchets" etc.

County/place: Somerset.

Date of commission: 28 November 1667.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 17 January 1668 at Wells.
