Description

Short title: Moreton v Wood.

Plaintiff(s): Walter Moreton.

Defendant(s): John Wood, Mark Lanut, Simon Jasson, Randolph Ashenhurst, Simon Biddulph, Michael Hill.

Subject of depositions: Lands in and near the city of Lichfield (Staffordshire), belonging to the vicars choral of Lichfield Cathedral, a mine of lead ore in the lordship of Wetton (Staffordshire), chantry lands in Lichfield, etc. These depositions contain a reference to T'Owd Man (the collective spirit of earlier lead miners).

County/place: Staffordshire.

Date of commission: 25 June 1629.
