Description

Short title: Tenants of Cockfield v Bishop of Durham.

Plaintiff(s): Her Majesty's tenants of Cockfield.

Defendant(s): Richard Bishop of Durham, Henry Wigglesworth.

Subject of depositions: Towns of Cockfield and Lynnsike, and the moores of same; and Patherawe alias Peythrawe. Survey; whether Cockfield is parcel of the manor of Rabye, and extends into the manor of Lynsikke. Petition from the poor tenants of Cockfield, in HM lordship of Rabye, to the lord treasurer, against the inclosure of the common lands above mentioned by the Bishop of Durham.

County/place: Durham.

Date of commission: 12 February 1584.
