Description

Short title: Gouche v Jhessoppe.

Plaintiff(s): Sir John Gouche, Henry Willoughby, Thomas Drydo, Stepn. Pople, Thomas Barons, John Bellman.

Defendant(s): John Jhessoppe, vicar of Gillingham.

Subject of depositions: Certain slanderous matters alledged against the defendant; and touching tithes of Gillingham, Milton-upon-Stowre, and Burton. Was Gillingham called Clyffehouse.

County/place: Dorset.

Date of commission: 28 January 1584.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 April 1584 at Gillingham.
