Captured ship: William and Anne of Fowey (master Abraham Stephens of Fowey).
History: an English merchant ship (20 tons, 4 prize crew and 2 prisoners when retaken), bound from St Malo to Fowey, laden with soap, cloth (lambale, quintins, canvas, dowlas, poldavies) and feathers; taken 9-12 am on 15/25 March 1672/1673 off Plymouth Sound by an unnamed 8-gun Dutch privateer; retaken 6-7 pm on 16/26 March 1672/1673 a little to the west of the Isle of Wight by HMS Dreadnought (Richard Trevanion commanding) and brought into Portsmouth on 18/28 March 1672/1673. The Dutch put 2 of the crew into the ship's boat and left them at sea.
