Folios 180-181: Thomas Western, HMS Scorpion, Torbay. Confirms sailed from Yarmouth Roads, Isle of Wight on Wednesday 5 January with the Arun and Betty Ordnance Transports under convoy. The weather being so bad could not get further than Berry Head. Came into Torbay last night with the two Transports. When weather permits will proceed to Plymouth. Encloses list of merchant vessels who sailed with convey all of whom, except the Fortune, left the first night.
Folio 182: enclosure with folios 180-181. List of merchant ships under convoy of HM Sloop Scorpion. Ships were Three Brothers, Elizabeth, Charming [?], Endeavour and Fortune. Masters were Babel [Jillard], Thomas Hopkins, Samuel Frances, John Trevett and John Fisher. Owners - Babel [Jillard], William Stephens, Thomas Owens, William Richardson and Henderson & Co.
