Folios 168-169: Nicholas Tomlinson, Witham, Essex. States that having seen a letter from Captain Ferris giving an account of his having entered the Gironde & capturing a number of vessels. He Reminds the Admiralty of a letter he sent to Sir Evan Nepean dated 2 September 1799 where he laid out a plan to attach the Gironde Convoys which would have disrupted the supplies from the Southern Provinces to Brest. Enclose [Inc.] a copy of an extract of a letter to the Secretary of the Admiralty.
