Court and Date of Trial: York quarter sessions, Sheffield, February 1849.
Crime: Felony.
Initial sentence: Four months imprisonment.
Outcome: Insane. Removal to Wakefield asylum 30 April 1849. Discharged 13 October 1849.
Petitions and letters: Petition from visiting Justices at Wakefield house of correction to remove the prisoner, who has become dangerously insane, to the local asylum. By September the visiting Justices at the asylum report his recovery and forward certificates of sanity, seeking a warrant for his discharge.
