Description

Prisoner name: Alfred Lord, aged 13.

Court and Date of Trial: Kent quarter sessions, Maidstone, April 1849.

Crime: Stealing money.

Initial sentence: Transportation for seven years.

Gaoler's Report: Convicted before.

Outcome: Removal to Parkhurst.

Petitions and letters: At the asking of the parents, who are 'respectable' but struggle to support 10 children, the committing Magistrate supports their request to transfer the boy prisoner to Parkhurst to 'reclaim' him.
