Description

Captured ship: Adventure of Dublin (master John Hunter of Kirkcaldy and Dublin).

History: an Irish merchant ship (barque, 18 tons), bound from Ballyshannon, Ireland to Bilbao, laden with about 305 casks of butter to be delivered to Michael Hoare merchant of Bilbao on the account of Thomas Bell, merchant of Dublin; was stopped and searched by a French man of war off Ushant, who examined his French pass, and was then taken on 13/23 November 1692, about 10 leagues WSW of Ushant by HMS Germoon Prize (Michael Wilkins commanding), and brought into Plymouth, where Wilkins' crew took away 200 firkins of butter.
