Captured ship: Adventure of La Rochelle (master Peter Cadet).
History: a French merchant ship (barque, 50 tons), bound from Lisbon to Rouen, laden with oranges and lemons; taken on 19 February / 1 March 1693, about 5 leagues from Le Havre by HMS Goodwin Prize (Thomas Stepney commanding), and brought first into the Isle of Wight, where Stepney removed the cargo into hoys and into his own ship, and also removed sails, and anchor, various hawsers and cable into his own ship, and then took the Adventure into Spithead, Portsmouth, and left her there.
