Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Gibraltar.
Captured ship: Johanna Louisa (master Peter Jensen Giese).
Nationality: Danish.
History: bound from Salou to Altona and Hamburg, laden with brandy; taken on 16 May 1797 by the privateer Revenge (John Cowen commanding), and brought into Gibraltar.
Appellant: Jens Wolff of London on behalf of Widow Croese and Son, and of Messrs Abbema and Son, merchants of Altona.
Respondent: The captor.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 22 July 1801 (folios 148-156).
Decision: further proof required.
