Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of St Kitts.
Captured ship: Aurora (master John Woolridge).
Nationality: American.
History: bound from Surinam to Boston, laden with sugar, molasses, coffee, cocoa and cotton; takenfirst by the French privateer Isabella (John Lewis Dondrago commanding), and retaken on 20 January 1798 by the privateer Maxwell (James Foster commanding), and brought into St Kitts.
Appellant: The master on behalf of James Scobie of Marblehead, and Ebenezer Schellebe and John Gregory of Salem and Boston, Massachusetts.
Respondent: The captor.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 15 July 1801 (folios 88-97).
Decision: to be restored.
