History: an English ship bound from [the west coast of France] to [London or Ramsgate], laden with French wine, brandy, rosin and walnut planks; taken off Dover on 24 July 1672 by two Dutch capers or privateers who took off all the crew but the mate John Ralfe, and retaken 8 hours later between Gravelines and Dunkirk by the shallop Endeavour (of the Custom House of Southampton, Lawrence Cole commanding) and brought into [Dover].
