Captured ship: St Anne of Calais, master Bastian Mason.
History: a French barque bound from St Valery to Calais, laden with wheat, rye, soap, sailcloth and raw wool; taken first in early August 1672 by a Dutch caper, but eight hours later a French privateer gave chase and forced the St Anne into the harbour of Dover.
