Description

Captured ship: Nuestra Señora de Oliveira y S Antonio e Almas of Lisbon (master Ignacio Gomes Franco).

History: a Portuguese ship (80 tons, guns, 8 men), bound from San Sebastian to Dunkirk, laden with brandy, wine, port, cork and brazilwood; taken on 9/20 January 1744 by the privateer Recovery (Mark Anderson commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

  • [CP 6]: release;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation, claim;
  • [CP 9]: allegation;
  • [CP 10-CP 12]: affidavit for restitution by the captain, two accounts of damages;
  • [CP 13-CP 14]: attestation as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 9 ship's papers [all restored].

[Decision: restored with costs and damages, 2 November 1744]
