Captured ship: Swallow of Philadelphia (master John Harr).
History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 2 howitzers, 1 swivel gun, 9 men), bound from Philadelphia to Tenerife, laden with staves, tar and bees wax; taken on 3 June 1779 in latitude 37°30'N, longitude 20°W by the privateer Rover (James Pettit commanding), and brought into New York.
