Description

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Le Lévrier of Conquet (commander Le Chevalier Jean François Dauxais).

History: a French privateer (cutter, 25 or 30 tons, 2 guns, 6 swivels, 35 men), bound from Morlaix to Brest on a cruise; taken on 1 January 1783 in latitude 49°07'N, by the privateer Dolphin (Richard John commanding), and brought into St Ives.

Court papers: 1-5; Ship's papers: 6-34. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
