Captured ship: Le Lévrier (commander Mathurin Rene le Mercier).
History: a French privateer (16 tons, 8 swivel guns, 28 men), bound from Paimpol on a cruise; taken on 20 July 1781 about 8 leagues SSW of Plymouth by the privateer Squirrel (Thomas Clarke commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-9. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
