Captured ship: Bagatelle of St Malo (master Joseph Le Depensier).
Capture history: a French merchant ship (brigantine, 80-90 tons, abandoned by her crew) bound from St Martin de Ré to Brest, laden with vinegar; taken on 27 April 1782 off the French coast by the privateer Hope of Jersey (Francis Pirouet commanding), and brought into Penzance.
Intended voyage: within France.
