Captured ship: L'Ange Gardien (master Guillaume Betuse).
History: a French coasting vessel (brig, 36 tons, 5 men), bound from Redon, Brittany to Arcasson [Arcachon, Gascony], laden with rye; taken on 10 March 1780 off Oleron, France by the privateer Aeolus (Philip Giffard commanding), and brought into Jersey.
Court papers: 1-5; Ship's papers: 6-9. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
