Folios 55-56: John McGeorge, HMS Wellington, Spithead. Confirms arrival that day at Spithead having sailed from Cumana and Caracas, sailing from the latter place on 9 August. Has brought three deputies - Simon Bolivar, Don Louis Mendon [?] and Don Andrez Bello - from the Governing Junta. Encloses copies of Orders and Log (latter not with letter).
Folios 57-58: enclosure with folios 55-56. Copy of Order given by Sir Alexander Cochrane on HMS Neptune, Carlisle Bay, Barbados to Captain John McGeorge, HMS Wellington dated 17 May 1810. To sail to Cumana and deliver the letters addressed to the President and Vice President of the Government of that district and receive any despatches they may have for the British Government. Then proceed to La Guira to deliver letter to Supreme Governing Junta of Caracas and receive their despatches and any deputed person to the British Government. Then proceed to Spithead.
