Folios 186-188: enclosure in folios 185-186. Letter dated 17 October 1799 by James Derby, Carpenter, HMS Overyssel, to Captain John Bazely, HMS Overyssel, Deal. Asks to be removed to a ship in Ordinary due to his age, 63, and infirmity he cannot do his duty on a ship at sea and he has family depending on him. He has 25 years service as a Carpenter.
