1 individual petition (Frederick Vincent, committing magistrate) on behalf of Edmund Wingrove convicted at Buckinghamshire Special Assizes in January 1831 for destroying machinery on 29 November. Gaoler's report: character generally good, in custody once before. Grounds for clemency: previous excellent character, both former employers prepared to employ him again, good worker, ill in prison hospital because so distressed at shame caused. Initial sentence: death commuted to 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil, answered 25 February 1831. NP 44
