Description

1 individual petition (Charles Wilkinson, the prisoner's father) on behalf of William Wilkinson convicted at the Plymouth Sessions in April 1827 for stealing 4 gold rings, property of Mr Hyman. Gaoler's report: convicted before, on board the Captivity. Grounds for clemency: still on board hulks after 4 years, good conduct on board hulks, only committed crime because in bad company of two others named Clarke. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. NP 42
