1 collective petition (7 people from Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire) on behalf of Aaron Walker, weaver, convicted with James Davies and John Bardsley at Chester Quarter Sessions in April 1830 for stealing 14 yards of flannel, property of Henry Buxton. Gaolers report: character not known. Grounds for clemency: Walker only pleaded guilty under pressure from Davies even though innocent, wife and 3 children now destitute, dependent on parish relief. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. NP 35
