1 individual petition (Braybrooke) on behalf of James Wedlock, Nathan Unwin and John Sanders, labourers, convicted at Essex Quarter Sessions Chelmsford in January 1831 for a riot. Grounds for clemency: no damage to property or violence committed, only demanded more wages, all respectable hard working men, no risk if released early, be a good example to others. Initial sentence: Wedlock and Unwin 3 months' imprisonment, Sanders 4 months' imprisonment. Annotated: one month of the sentences remitted 1 March 1831. NP 36
