1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (11 people) on behalf of John Skinner convicted at the Old Bailey in February 1831 for receiving stolen butter, property of Mr Fetterton of Newgate Street. Gaoler's report: not known here, ordered to hulks. Grounds for clemency: butter just appeared in his room, no knowledge it was stolen, first offence, previous good character. Initial sentence: 14 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. NP 29
