Appendix 10: Copy transcript of testimony given by George Boucher. He has been employed on the river for 50 years: dredging, fishing, coasting, 14 years as a pilot and 20 years as Master of the Chatham Yacht. The river has shoaled from the Beacon Point upwards. He details reaches where there is less water than 30 years ago, basing his testimony on evidence from his dredging and sounding activities. He blames the Maidstone Locks and Rochester Bridge for reducing the flow of the current.
