Appendix 9: Copy transcript of testimony given by Timothy Walker. He has been employed for 50 years on the river, 40 years as a Pilot, 19 years as a King's Pilot and was born on the Sheer Hulk. Testifies from experience to the shoaling of the river at various Reaches.. He can no longer take ships along some parts where he could previously. He blames the shoaling on the Locks, the Sterlings of Rochester Bridge, the mooring of ships head and stern and soil and sewage from the towns. He recommends increasing the velocity of the current by removing the Locks and/or the Bridge.
