Description (What the record is about)
-
John Wilson Croker. From J Bedingfield, Bath. An evening paper gave account of some proceedings at Calcutta regarding the detention of the American ship, Thomas, and Master Troubridge. About 2 years ago, application had been made to me by the next-of-kin of a petty officer belonging to HM ship Iphigenia, and who was murdered by Troubridge. Am sending a copy of Captain Lambert's certificate relative to this. The father of the deceased obtained letters of administration in July 1811. The original documents and a narrative of Henry Daid of the Iphigenia regarding how Mr Vickery was put to death are in the hands of Mr Cranstone of the Navy Pay Office. Hope this communication leads to justice.
