William Marsden. The agent to Lieutenant Thomas Gilbert has asked for dispensation for the absence of papers to enable him to pass his accounts as Commander of the Boxer brig. Lieutenant Gilbert seems to have commanded the Boxer gun brig from May 1797 to March 1801, when he was superceded. They find that with one exception, slops accounts have been passed and the ship has been paid so no loss can be accounted to the public. Opine that the absence of one slop account can be dispensed with and Lieutenant Gilbert should be paid.
