- Folio 199. Letter from William Shouler, Acting Overseer of the Poor for the Parish of Wavendon to the Poor Law Commission saying that notice of appeal has been given in respect of the amount of assessment of the poor rate on the tithes and that they are at a loss as to what to do. Permission is requested to seek the help of the parochial lawyer in this matter and asks whether any expenses incurred would be sanctioned by the Poor Law Commission. The urgency of the case is stressed. Annotated: Immediate Paper Number: 4755/A/1839.
