Folio 213. Letter from Hugh Rice and William Williams, Overseers of St Just in Roseland, St Mawes to the Poor Law Commissioners, explaining that their parish poor house burnt down in 1821 and had to be replaced. They borrowed £300 from the Cornish Naval Bank Falmouth, to do this. For some time they have been paying £10 a year towards the principle with interest, but the Truro Union auditor has now refused to allow this. They request that the Commission directs them to make these payments. Paper Number: 9502/A/1841. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
