Folios 6-7. Letter from Plummer and Nankivell, Overseers of St Mary's, Truro, to Edwin Chadwick, [Secretary to the Poor Law Commission], written on behalf of the Select Vestry in relation to clause 27 of the Poor Law Bill. They ask if magistrates have the same power to order out door relief to the aged and infirm in single parishes, as they do in unions of parishes. If not, they ask if the Commissioners will order such relief on the nomination of the overseers and select vestry. They thank the Commissioners for their letter and enclosures of 1 October 1834. Annotated: instruction to respond by 6 October 1834. Annotated draft letter referring to a circular just issued by the Commission, for the guidance of magistrates, which includes the information they wanted. Poor Law Union Number 57.
