1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (9 people) on behalf of Sarah Davis convicted at the Old Bailey in December 1831 for stealing handkerchiefs, property of Frederick King. Grounds for clemency: previous good character, aged 47 and mother of large family, went out with lodger Mary Collins, who, unknown to the prisoner, was shoplifting and both were arrested, her sister Jane Worthington was a servant in Lord Melbourne's and Lord Carlton's family, with no blemish on her character. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Gaoler's report: not known here. KQ 13
