2 individual petitions (Mary Miller, the prisoner's wife (2 copies) and R Campbell Scarlett) on behalf of Robert Miller convicted at the Norwich City Quarter Sessions on 16 January 1834 for stealing 2 barrels of porter from Henry Martineau, porter merchant of Norwich [Norfolk]. Grounds for clemency: sentence too severe for first offence, previous honest and good character, wife and 8 children left destitute. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Gaoler's report: character not much known, married 7 children, conduct good on Leviathan. Annotated: nil. AV 47
