1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (6 inhabitants of Norwich [Norfolk]) on behalf of John Cannell convicted with Gymer Shorten and others at the Suffolk Quarter Sessions at Ipswich on 9 January 1835 for stealing a horse belonging to Mr Allen of Holbrook [Suffolk]. Grounds for clemency: first offence, brought horse in good faith not knowing it was stolen, Gymer Shorten since declared prisoner innocent. Initial sentence: life transportation. Gaoler's report: character bad. Annotated: nil. AV 16
