Description

1 individual petition (Elizabeth Moore, mother of the prisoner, of 112 Regent Street, Horse Ferry Road, Westminster and countersigned by the prosecutor) on behalf of George Moore (charged with George William Lewis) convicted at the Old Bailey in December 1821 of taking a pocket handkerchief, the property of Mr Larbaleshier. Grounds for clemency: good conduct. Granted free pardon in the colony by the Governor. Mother recently widowed. First offence. Initial sentence: transportation for life. Annotated: cannot be granted. MM5
