2 individual petitions (prisoner and prosecutor, John Black) and 1 collective petition (32 inhabitants of Great Yarmouth) on behalf of Jane Purdy convicted at Great Yarmouth Quarter Sessions in April 1824 of theft of three pairs of stockings property of John Blacke. Grounds for clemency: 20 years of age. Crime committed in an unguarded moment. Sincerely contrite. Full of anxiety. Good behaviour whilst in House of Correction. Initial sentence: 12 months' imprisonment. Annotated: 'Refused' 12 August 1824. MK21
