1 collective petition (9 members of the Bench at West Half Hundred of Briar Surrey) on behalf of William Rolfe convicted at the Quarter Sessions for the county of Sussex in January 1822 of larceny. Grounds for clemency: father of the prisoner has been a respectable inhabitant of Wandsworth for the last thirty eight years. Supported his family and is an upright and worthy character. Prisoner was seduced by worthless associates. Prisoner was employed and his employer has given a certificate as to his good conduct. Father asks that son remains in the country. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. MH30
