Folio 49. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Messrs W and E Willoby [William Willoby and Edward Willoby], Clerks to the Guardians of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Poor Law Union acknowledging receipt of their letter of 15 March regarding the resignation of William Dods, Relieving Officer of the Norhamshire district. The Commission wishes to know whether the new relieving officer is to enter on his duties and be paid before midsummer as, under the Order on 'Duties of Officers' the salary cannot be continued to Dods after his successor takes up his duties. A form of queries is enclosed to be completed for Dods' successor and returned to the Commission [not included]. Paper number: 3097/A/1845. Poor Law Union Number 325. Counties: Town and County of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Northumberland.
