- Folio 392. Printed form from James R Tomlin [James Robinson Tomlin], Assistant Clerk to the Guardians of the Reeth Union to the Poor Law Board with names and details of all 'Insane Persons, Lunatics and Idiots' chargeable to each parish. The form gives details of age, where placed and cost of maintenance for the following people: Edward Stones of Marrick, in the workhouse, seven years a lunatic. James Cherry 65 of Muker, with friends, lunatic all his life. Thomas Alderson, 35 of Reeth, in the workhouse, 4 years a lunatic. John Douglass 22 of Arkengarthdale, with friends, lunatic all his life. Ann Close 44 of Melbecks, with friends, four years a lunatic. None were dangerous to themselves or others. Poor Law Union Number 555. Counties: Yorkshire North Riding.
