Description

Hon. William Wellesley Pole. Captain Ferriers of the Thais has written about Mr. Puncheon, Acting Master of the Thais, who has applied to be allowed half pilotage for the time he had charge of the Contest gun brig. Lieutenant Gregory's certificate states Mr. Puncheon took charge of the Contest on the coast of France from Ushant to Quiberon Bay between October 1806 to March 1807. Opine there is no objection to paying him for when he took the ship through the passages where a Pilot Extra would have been necessary, if he produces a certificate stating the times when the duty was performed
